PAGAN HARVEST

paganHARVEST arise out of the English pastoral tradition. The duo comprise a modern classical composer / arranger / songwriter / guitarist with prog influences, and a versatile bass player. These creative musicians combine powerful lyrics set within strong melodic frameworks to produce thought provoking music they describe as Avant Prog Dark Folk.

Earth's Secret Engine – Preorder now!
Paga
n Harvest, the progressive folk duo of Lawrence Reed and Steve Daymond, have welcomed two new members for their upcoming album, Earth's Secret Engine: vocalist Sam Walker and drummer Ellie Daymond. This marks a shift from their previous dark folk style to a more rock-oriented sound, while retaining their unique and intricate compositions. The album explores the theme of nature and its fragility in the face of human impact, drawing inspiration from the English landscape that has always been at the core of Pagan Harvest's music.

paganHARVEST are: Lawrence Reed and Steve Daymond.

Pagan Harvest
The follow up album Sacred River is now out … here’s what people are saying about Pagan Harvest

“Sacred River draws on the rich banks of lore around the River Thames… it’s a thoughtful album that’s dramatic, atmospheric and deftly performed… this is interesting, clear-eyed prog from a band who deserve to reap what they’ve sown.”

Grant Moon – Prog Magazine

“Pagan Harvest pull together a myriad of musical styles taking the listener off in different directions from folk to dark progressive moments all the way through to the underlying classical influences. So if you fancy a hybrid of dark folk, classical and progressive rock then it will be well worth entering the world of Pagan Harvest.”

Andrew Manning – Midlands Rocks

“Really good and love the bass. Clever stuff!”

Dave Pegg (Fairport Convention/Jethro Tull)

“Pagan Harvest's members lend their respective styles - classical, folk and prog - to the band's inventive greater whole. The result is polarising… you have to applaud their desire to deliver something so leftfield.”

Jerry Ewing – Editor Prog Magazine

“Pagan Harvest delivered a superb album in their debut work. The story-telling over intricate soundscapes will captivate audiences, keeping them hooked from start to finish.”

Doug Bearne – National Rock Review

“Pagan Harvest enthusiastically explore the intersections of English folk music and progressive rock.”

Angel Romero – Progressive Rock Central

Pagan Harvest
Pagan Harvest’s latest release is an epic 16 minute exploration of the life in the trenches for a World War 1 soldier. It’s in typical Pagan Harvest dark prog-folk style but episodes of hope are provided in bright choruses as the soldier dreams of home and wishes for peace. We already attracted some excellent reviews

“Dark, complex and intense.”

“There is a real depth to this piece of music which reveals new hidden gems upon each listen, as they use the soundscapes with impressive effect. To give you a steer some minor comparisons could be made with Big Big Train and Gentle Giant but the band are what they are with a touch of uniqueness.”

“Without doubt the best piece of music they have released to date and one that paints a memorable aural picture that’s best savoured in its entirety. “

“Musically it is classic Pagan Harvest but the piece is predominantly keyboard based… a probable new direction. There are myriad influences at force. An underlying folk style with elements of progressive rock and a strong classical influence in the instrumental parts. All glued together by some stunning bass playing.”

“The release is the last in the bands original line up with Lawrence Reed and Steve Daymond taking Pagan Harvest forward and currently working on the fourth album.”
